For Teens

Does it seem as if your parents still treat you like a child?

Do you feel angry a lot?

Do you often feel sad or lonely?

Do you worry often or feel a lot of stress?

Do you wish your parents understood you better?

Or do you just want your parents to get off your back?

Adolescence is a confusing time. There are many physical, mental, emotional, and social changes. There are so many choices and decisions. Some teens have difficulty working through these things on their own, and may need extra support. A therapist can help a teen bridge the gap between leaving childhood behind and becoming an adult.

I help teens with problems like those listed above. I will listen to you, help you learn about yourself more fully, and how to make better choices. In a safe and confidential place, you can discuss anything that is weighing heavy on your heart or in your thoughts. I will also work with your parents to help them have better communication with you so that your family is more supportive and your home is a more comfortable place to be.

Many teens don't want to be in therapy. You may feel pressured by your parents or others to start counseling. I understand this, and my promise to you is that I will make the process as pleasant as possible for you. I will take your individual personality and interests into account, and our relationship will be based on mutual respect and trust. I look forward to meeting you, and getting started on this journey together.
